Incorporate Acroyoga Into Your Next Beach Photoshoot!
Practicing acroyoga on the beach is a fun and scenic way to enjoy your practice. The sand provides a soft surface, a more welcoming way to try new poses. Start with basic poses like Bird, Throne, and Plank on Plank. Bird is a foundational pose where the base supports the flyer’s hips while the flyer extends their arms and legs in a “flying” position. Throne involves the flyer sitting on the base’s feet while the base supports the flyer’s back.
Once you’re comfortable with the basics, try more advanced beach poses like Star, Whale, and Back Plank – also known as Back Bird. Star is an intermediate pose where the flyer balances on the base’s hands, creating a star-like shape. Whale involves the base lying on their back and lifting the flyer in a light backbend position. Back Plank challenges both strength and balance as the flyer lies on their back on the base’s feet, creating a plank position.
Safety is important, so always practice with a spotter and communicate with your partner. The beach can be an unpredictable environment, so be mindful of the tide and weather conditions. Practicing acroyoga on the beach not only enhances your skills but also provides a unique and enjoyable experience. With dedication and practice, you’ll master these beach poses and create lasting memories.
